SENIORS Community Connector

Offered in partnership with United Way BC, the Social Prescribing program aims to help seniors improve their health and well-being by connecting individuals to meaningful activities and resources. Through the Community Connector, participants can receive help in accessing information and community services, or participants can choose to co-produce a comprehensive plan involving multiple areas of support with follow-up from the Community Connector. Some areas of service can include, but are not limited to; nutritional supports, physical activities, social, volunteer or creative opportunities and caregiver supports.

 

This program is for older adults (65+) living in Kamloops who are experiencing:

  • social isolation or loneliness

  • major life events such as loss of a spouse

  • physical inactivity

  • chronic health ailments

  • caregiver fatigue

  • poor nutrition and/or food security concerns

  • the desire or need to connect with community resources or services

  • wanting to make some changes with current life situation but just don’t know where to start
